Buying medicine safely: how to avoid fake and mishandled drugs
Pharmacy team21 April 20264 min read

Street-sold medicine is often expired, wrongly stored or counterfeit. A few habits protect your family and your pocket.
Medicine is only as good as its storage. Tablets that spent weeks in the sun on a market table may look perfect and do nothing at all.
Simple rules
Buy from a registered pharmacy, check the expiry date yourself, refuse loose tablets sold without packaging, and keep the receipt.
Never take a leftover antibiotic from a previous illness or share one with a relative — a half course breeds resistance and hides the real problem.
Ask about alternatives
If a brand is beyond your budget, ask about a generic with the same active ingredient. Our pharmacy quotes prices before you commit and will suggest options that work.
