Luxian community

Luxians around the world

The Dr Chuwanga Clinic family does not end at the front door. Wherever a Luxian serves, the same light goes with them.

Global family, local roots

Who we are

One family, many places

The Luxian bond extends far beyond the walls of DCC and the daily routines of clinical practice.

As Luxians, we do not see each other merely as colleagues — we recognise a family shaped by shared vocation, professional excellence, and the deep compassion that defines the Dr Chuwanga Spirit.

Whether one served as a clinician or support staff, the experiences we lived together at DCC created a lasting identity. Our commitment to quality healthcare, empathetic service, and the standards our sector deserves continues to unite us, no matter where life leads.

A Luxian remains a Luxian even after leaving DCC. What qualifies someone is not their current workplace, but the posture, values, and vision they carry forward — especially the belief in delivering care that uplifts patients and strengthens communities.

Beyond those directly linked to DCC, we warmly welcome patrons, partners, and collaborators who share our mission. Anyone who aligns with the Luxian spirit and contributes to advancing healthcare excellence becomes part of this growing global community.

The Luxian identity

The Dr Chuwanga Clinic community

The term 'Luxian' comes from the DCC motto Lux in Tenebris — 'Light in Darkness'. It represents all active or former DCC employees, clinicians and support staff alike, who carry the spirit of DCC into their daily work.

Three responsibilities we carry

Value Captain

A Luxian who fully understands, embodies, and practices every DCC corporate value — setting the standard for others to follow.

Helper

A Luxian who delivers empathetic care and consistently upholds DCC's customer-service standards, making every patient feel seen.

Safety First

A Luxian who actively prioritises patient safety in every aspect of daily practice, from the bedside to the back office.

Luxians do more than carry these attributes — they guide, mentor, and inspire others, especially new Luxians (“New Hires”), to adopt the same standards of excellence. To maintain this culture, DCC invests in internal and external development seminars, ensuring that all staff remain competent, confident, and aligned with the medical excellence they represent.
